Under the tutelage of Dr. Wonny Song, Xiaoyu was awarded the Lambda Grand Champion Music Award for two consecutive years. In 2009, Xiaoyu also won first prize for both the National Finals of the Canadian Music Competition (under the 17 years old category), and was awarded grand championship for the Montreal Classical Musical Festival organized by the Quebec Music Teachers' Association.

*** 16th May 2009 (Saturday) Duo Recital by Andre Rodrigues (Guitar) and Erin Cashman (Flute) Time: 20h00 Tickets: $15 Location: Lambda Concert Hall   Andre Rodrigues , guitar professor at Lambda School will be performing in duo with flautist Erin Cashman. Bio:André Rodrigues has won several academic prizes in his undergraduate years, amongst which includes an award for Rodrigues' work The Harmony of Garoto in his works for solo guitar, awarded by the National Council for Scientific and Technological Development from Brazil. Rodrigues has performed in several classical guitar festivals and won prizes in international guitar competitions: an Honourable Mention at the I Concurso Internacional de Violão Vital Medeiros and the 2nd prize at the I Concurso Internacional de Violão de Brasília. Rodrigues is currently working towards his Master's degree in Classical Guitar Performance at the University of Montréal, under the supervision of Professor Peter McCutcheon.
Erin Cashman completed her Masters Degree at l' Université de Montréal, studying with flutist Lise Daoust. Erin performs in the Orchestre de l'Université de Montréal, the Nouvel Ensemble Moderne, as well as various chamber music groups. Concert Program:

* February 22nd, 2009 Proud Supporter of the 2009 QMEF Performathon Lambda is supportive of musical and artistic education in Quebec. This year, we offer our venue to the Quebec Music Education Foundation for the Performathon event. The 2009 Performathon organized by the Quebec Music Education Foundation will be hosted at Lambda School of Music and Fine Arts on the 22nd February, 2009 (Sunday) The QMEF 5th Music Performathon is a biennial event that raises money for music scholarships. These are made available to any deserving music student. It is organized by the QMEF in collaboration with the Quebec Music Teachers’ Association (QMTA). The goal this year is to raise $ 5000. 
2009 QMEF Performathon at Lambda School of Music and Fine Arts on 22th February 2009 Over 60 students performed to raise funds for a scholarship for deserving music students. Lambda offers our concert hall venue to support this event.
